I've read quite a bit by Joe Hill, and I have to say that 20th Century Ghosts is his best work. Liberals talk about the 60′s as if they weren't half a century ago. Too many Americans depend on the ghosts of the 20th century. I did not enjoy it as much as his novel, but it was not a bad read, either. The stories in this collection are nearly perfect. They are cliched and rather uninspired, formulaic and lackluster in emotion and life. There were some pretty weird stories in this book. With a title like that the reader expects more supernatural, less science fiction/fantasy, more ghosts, lessweird inflatable people? 20th Century Ghosts is really a misleading title. I think it's a rare thing to be able to find a collection of ghost stories that have true heart and soul behind them, but that's exactly what you'll find with Joe Hill's collection, 20th Century Ghosts.
